Peter, I would think there is no other politician in these islands of any hue who could hold and sustain such a multitude of consistent responses quite so comfortably and with such depth of competence.
I would also imagine that each and every questioner felt their points were met fair and square by Alex Salmond. It was a quite formidable performance and also a welcome opportunity to hear meaningful and respectful questions being put to him.
What a pity we are served up with bear-pit politics at each Thursday's dreadful FMQ.
I agree completely, although John Swinney's performance today on BBC News Ch80 on the ludicrous Lord MacGregor report was formidable (see my YouTube clip just up)
