“The overwhelming opinion in Scotland”–two versions in the education debate 2nd Feb 2012

It gets interesting at the 13.40 minute mark.

“That dreadful, anti-Scottish, anti-education  trap” is an accurate description of  the Tories/LibDem Coalition, and their Scottish puppets, Labour are edging towards it – let’s not be afraid to say it …

Say it again and louder.

  1. That's the first time I've heard Mike Russell speak?

The SNP team has some top politicians.

His point about the Tory-Labour alliance rings very true - then it was confirmed by the guy in the big pink tie aftewards.

    Thanks for the link

  2. You've missed a lot of good stuff, Stevie. Mike Russell has a formidable intellect, and has many fine debates and speeches under his belt.

    We're lucky to have him.

  4. Iain MacWhirter had a wee cracker in his latest piece on Scottish Education and the trend in England to privatise Universities.

He calls them finishing schools for the rich.

Education is something worth paying for and handing to our young as their birthright, like democracy.

  5. In fact Mike Russell is quite formidable on these TV sofa debates and is nobody's pushover. He can be robust and is not unwilling to tell the questioner or the other to be quiet and let him answer the question.

I am surprised that he is not used more, especially on UK wide broadcasts where his English accent would be more easily received by those south of the border.
