  1. Thanks for this replay Peter.

Can you tell me again - who is this Ian McMillan chappie, oft-quoted as a sounding board of the great and good of Scotland?

The last time I had the chance to peruse his sounding board credentials, was via Calum Cashley's excellent exposé of the absurdly diminutive size of CBI Scotland when compared to their grandoise status, as mightily pushed by our good old unionista brigade, et al.

Indeed the lighter note on Scotland's future from McMillan was duly commented on by AS, so maybe we're reaching that tipping point watershed sooner than expected!

That however, is mighty hard to believe from an arch-unionista place-man like McMillan. So, he's either working to a strategy, or is bound for the naughty step for breaking ranks.

For him to so do is a quite absurd notion and methinks the "black hole gang" are at their tricks!

  2. Playing the man not the ball

Said it all here, Barontorc - nothing to add, except that alex in his broadcast saw some positive aspects form McMillan.

  3. Indeed Peter, as Rab O'Ruglen commented, you've done a demolition job on Ian McMillan, or in any normal democratic society, that would be the case, but - no - the caped crusader of his totally unrepresentative CBI - Scotland, bounces back up - with yet another broadsword - (no doubt loaned to him by Edwards Longshanks a tad earlier) - for another swipe, as he's want to do.

Missed again - but, ruffled some Scottish hackles and this time, his comments are said to be representative of his board, so that's all fine and dandy and it certainly sounds as if he's been reined-in, to boot, if he's making positive comments. But, haud yer horses, surely, this is a' agin his personal better judgement - ye understaun, and at the direct behest of his board!

So,it wisnae me, they made me say it - and now, we await, is the naughty step avoided?

By, the way - why does CBI Scotland have to engage a lobbying firm? Are we actually subsidising this organisation from the public purse to employ a lobbying firm to try and rankle our own Government?

The laugh is, they've the cheek to complain that the Scottish Government is giving them a hard time!!!

Oh, brother - they ain't seen nuthin yet!

  4. Read what he says - he's more conciliatory this time. Perhaps he's beginning to sense the zeitgeist, and not before time ...
