Peter the most important thing about these polls is the trend.
As has been pointed out in other blogs a dynamic tipping point is being reached for independence.
There will be no surer way of persuading - "not sure voters", than through the sort of extravagance and waste shown in this MOD procurement story.
Add to that Joe MacPublic's awakening that Scots are getting taken for the proverbial ride and played as a patsy with the revenue taken south and the bickering over what filters back.
From block grant deductions, to grid connection charges, to the reducing share of military spend, etc, etc, the so called consequentials that are suddenly inconsequential and the horror story of PFI that we neither should have needed nor wanted if oil funds were used for proper social purposes.
It does seem, especially in the light of what the Sunday papers have to say, that the Force is With Us.
'Trend' of course, is a precise statistical concept, and I will have to brush up on my basic stats and see just what the statistical trend is, as opposed to how it feels.
The Telegraph reported - here today - that the MoD have had to be bailed out by another £ 3.9 billion, this on top of their £30-odd billion budget, plus the billion or two from the "Special Government Reserve" spent in Afghanistan.
Rather than Ian Davidson and Michael Moore worrying their empty heads about defence in an independent Scotland, they should instead be looking at what Westminster is doing now.
Westminster is, with hugely honourable exceptions in individual MPs such as Tom Watson and John Mann is a supine tool of the British Establishment, the military/industrial complex and big, dirty moneyed interests.
To expect the likes of Ian Davidson and Michael Moore, party machine politicians, to challenge that is unrealistic.

A small sample as it were but the Brit nat insults, scare tactics and menaces don't seem to be helping them.
