Tut tut Peter, as you well know the price of oil is volatile and Scotland is therefore much better off letting Westminster handle the proceeds. We are doubly fortunate to benefit from such benevolence when you consider that no other oil producing country in the world has yet realised that oil is really a curse rather than a blessing. How blessed we are to be snug and safe in the bosom of the union.
The unfortunate thing is that some people believe that this is true, and the volatility will send the price down to $20 a barrel on the day of independence.
If someone were to say to them, 'I'll give you £1 TRILLION if you become independent' they would jump at it.
